Frequently Asked Questions
Why Not Just Hire an Attorney and File in Court?
Family and Cost. First, I have seen lots of families dissolve through the litigation process. In fact, in my private law firm practice I ask all of my clients before beginning litigation if they are prepared to lose their sibling over this matter. Mediation can begin the healing process to keep your family unified. Second reason is the cost. I have seen "simple" litigations easily exceed $100,000 in attorney's fees and costs by each party. Even for very simple matters, costs can exceed $50,000 by the time a trial is reached.
Why Choose Corinthian Mediation?
Mediator Joshua D. Ramirez has over a decade of experience in the trust, probate, and estate litigation field. Mr. Ramirez has handled over 100 litigation matters and knows likely outcomes, how parties think during settlement discussions, and knows how to get parties to settle.

Should your family settle their disputes at our mediation, we will have a written settlement agreement before we leave the mediation that day, whether it is in person or via Zoom.
How Much Does Mediation Cost?
Most of our mediations cost a flat fee of $9,900. This is the total, one time fee payable amongst the parties, however they would like to divide the fee. While some clients may not see the value in spending money on a mediation, I can say from experience that most initial retainers from attorneys are going to be $10,000 each party.

Occasionally, after a review of your matter, your mediation may cost higher than our standard fee. Should this be the case, we will explain what that fee is and why. Examples of matters where further fees are required are cases such as more than 4 parties, cases involving tax matters, matters that may take more than one day to mediate, and matters with hundreds of pages to review in advance of the mediation.
What If We All Do Not Agree to Mediation?
Unfortunately all parties need to agree to mediation. This includes, in a typical family dispute, all siblings. The best advice I can give to those trying to convince their family of mediation is to discuss the attorney's fees should your dispute end up in Court.
Can We Hire Corinthian Mediation If We Are Already In Court?
Yes. Should your matter already be in Court, please have your respective attorneys reach out to us to discuss utilizing Corinthian Mediation as your private mediator. Please note that Corinthian Mediation cannot substitute any Court-ordered mandatory settlement conference (MSC).
